IT 'has best career prospects'

Young people believe that jobs in IT, science and engineering have the best prospects, new research has indicated.

The Realtime Generation Survey 2009 has found that 33 per cent of 13 to 17-year-olds think the sectors offers the most likely possibility of a successful working life.

More boys (37 per cent) want to enter the IT and science industry than girls, the Logicalis UK study suggested.

Chris Gabriel, marketing and solutions director at the firm, said that youngsters are weighing up the "value of education versus employment prospects".
